  It's easy to find a place with good food, but it's much harder to find people who make you genuinely feel welcome. Every member of the staff we interacted with was kind, polite, and sincerely attentive without it ever feeling forced. Those small acts of genuine hospitality are what turn an ordinary meal into a memorable experience. Thank you to the entire team for the care and professionalism you show. It's because of people like you that this is a restaurant worth returning to, and one I'll be happy to recommend to others.

  I’m leaving this review specifically to call out our server, Naam, because she was INCREDIBLE. I honestly don’t think we’ve ever been served so well, even at Michelin-starred restaurants. She was attentive without being overbearing, incredibly thoughtful, and apparently has the hearing of Superman. The place was so loud when I asked for malt vinegar, but somehow Naam heard me (the area we were in was super loud)! She was also so kind and considerate with our little one, who needed a bit of extra help. It’s those little things that really stand out, and she made our whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. The food was great as usual. Fish and chips FTW! The atmosphere could use some love. The location is showing its age and is definitely in need of a refresh. That said, I’ll happily come back regardless. Thank you, Naam. Easily the best server we’ve had all year!

  I had family visiting from Switzerland, and this restaurant was able to accommodate our last-minute reservation. The food and service were spectacular! Fiona was our server, and she was amazing from start to finish. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, regularly checking in on us without being intrusive and making sure our drinks were always topped up and that we were enjoying our meals. She was so friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and she really made our experience memorable. We truly appreciated her excellent service and would definitely come back again!

  This restaurant has a nostalgic meaning for us, as we had our first meal here after landing in Canada years ago—although it was in a different location at the time. Today, I ordered green rice with Soltani kebab. The koobideh was excellent, and the green rice was exactly what I expected. The highlight of Yaas Restaurant is the amazing wide variety of Persian cuisine they offer, from several types of stews to dizi (abgoosht) and a wide selection of kebabs. Highly recommended.

  It had been quite a while since my last visit, and I was honestly impressed by how good the food was. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and really well prepared. I also really appreciated how clean and organized the kitchen staff were. You could see that they were working hard and paying attention to cleanliness and hygiene, even during a very busy time. The two servers did an amazing job handling such a busy restaurant and taking care of everyone. Our server, Zhina, was especially friendly, kind, and welcoming, which made our experience even better. Thank you to the whole team for your hard work and great teamwork. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back! 🙌❤️

  I had a fantastic meal at Yaas Restaurant! The portion size was incredibly generous and definitely worth the price. The koobideh kebab was perfectly grilled, juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Every bite was delicious. The saffron rice was fluffy and fragrant, and the fresh bread, grilled tomato, onions, and herbs complemented the kebab perfectly. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. If you're looking for high-quality Persian food with large portions and amazingly juicy kebabs, I highly recommend Yaas Restaurant. I will definitely be coming back!

  Food was delicious and the overall experience was great! The service was amazing by a very sweet lady who was warm, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. We tried the dal makhni, bhindi masala, garlic naan, and spinach naan — everything was flavorful and really well made. The only small thing was that she didn’t seem to know much about the cocktails and liquor selection, but apart from that she was a wonderful host. The bathroom was also spacious and very clean, which added to the good experience. Overall, very good food and lovely hospitality!

  What a treat. Really authentic and tasty Indian cuisine! We decided to try this Indian restaurant on a flyer, and we were not disappointed. In fact, the food was better than our two go-to places in Vancouver. It’s a small restaurant and not fancy but the food is excellent. A steady stream of takeout customers flowed through while we dined as a testimonial to the quality of the food. We recommend highly.

  This place is almost always busy and there's a good reason why. Most people get their lunch specials, and it's difficult to find any other place that gives you that much food for $15 nowadays. We've tried various menu options, and so far everything has been great. Service can sometimes be hit or miss, and you might have to wait a bit for the food, but it's understandable given how busy they can get. I come here almost on a weekly basis, the value and flavour can't be beat.

  Had a great experience at Umi Sushi in North Vancouver. The sashimi was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. The service was friendly and attentive, and we also enjoyed a nice selection of sake. Overall, a great spot for fresh Japanese food, good service, and a relaxed atmosphere.   Amazing experience at Sushi Yummy! Everything was super delicious with excellent quality and very fresh ingredients. You can really taste the freshness in every bite. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.   I had a great experience at Sushi Umi — it truly exceeded my expectations. The presentation was beautiful right from the start, and you can tell a lot of care goes into each dish. The sushi was exceptionally fresh, with a perfect balance between the rice and the fish. The salmon was smooth and rich, and the shrimp had a great texture. The rolls were clean, well-crafted, and not overly heavy — just the right balance of flavor. The seafood noodle dish was also impressive. The sauce was deep and flavorful, and the noodles had a great chewy texture. The mussels and seafood added a nice richness, making it feel like a main dish rather than just a side.   Great spot for a casual and fun tacos night in North Vancouver. We went on their Taco Tuesday and it was $3 for meat and veggie tacos - minimum order of three plus you have to purchase a beverage. Our server was friendly, prompt, and attentive. I called earlier to make reservations as well - and the staff were accommodating. Favorite tacos: 🌮 Top tier: - Birria - so juicy and delicious. - Carnitas - a staple but they do it really well. - Al Pastor - another classic, and the pork is tasty and grilled flavourfully. - Caulifower - one of the most popular ones. My wife enjoyed it. - Refried Beans - our daughter liked it We also tried: - Asada - a little dry - Chorizo - also dry For drinks we went not alcoholic. There is a good selection of Jarritos. I had pineapple juice and my wife had a horchata. Both were good but also had too much ice. Again, great service and great food. We will be back for sure. 👍🏽 Thank you Tequilla Cantina.

  I had an amazing experience at Tequila Cantina. Their burrito is honestly one of the best I’ve had in Vancouver — perfectly fresh tortilla, packed with flavorful ingredients, and very well balanced. You can really taste the quality and authenticity in every bite. What made the night even more special was their unique and creative drinks. The cocktails were not only beautifully presented but also tasted incredible — refreshing, well-crafted, and different from the usual options you find elsewhere. The highlight of the evening was the live mariachi band. The music created such a fun and vibrant atmosphere, making the whole experience feel truly special and memorable. Great food, amazing drinks, live music, and friendly staff — everything was on point. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place!

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ THE NEW KING OF TACO TUESDAY IN NORTH VANCOUVER If you’re not spending your Tuesday evenings at Tequila Cantina, you’re doing Taco Tuesday wrong. We stopped in tonight and were absolutely blown away. From the moment we walked through the door, every single staff member made us feel genuinely welcome. The atmosphere was fun, energetic, and exactly what you hope for when you’re heading out for tacos and margaritas after a long day. Now let’s talk about the value… because it’s honestly ridiculous. Taco Tuesday specials at these prices should be illegal. We enjoyed multiple tacos, a Coke Zero, and one of the best skinny margaritas I’ve had in a long time, and somehow the bill still felt like it belonged in 2019. The food-to-dollar ratio here is absolutely off the charts. The tacos were fresh, flavour-packed, and loaded with authentic taste. The Birria was fantastic, the Pollo Con Mole was outstanding, and every bite had us planning what we’d order on our next visit before we’d even finished the first round. What really separates this place, however, is the people. Great food gets customers in the door. Warm, friendly, attentive staff are what make people come back. Every interaction felt sincere, and the team created the kind of experience that turns first-time visitors into regulars. North Vancouver has no shortage of restaurants, but finding a place that delivers incredible food, amazing value, delicious drinks, and genuinely welcoming service all at the same time is rare. Tequila Cantina has officially earned a permanent spot in our rotation and will absolutely be our new Taco Tuesday headquarters. Do yourself a favour: grab some friends, order the tacos, order the margaritas, and thank me later. 10/10. Outstanding food. Outstanding service. Outstanding value.   We have been having wonderful food from Pawan’s now for years! We love their lunch specials and have often ordered takeout from them for big gatherings. The service is fantastic and the food is always delicious. We would highly recommend you pay them a visit for super tasty Indian food!

  I came here with a party of 4 and we got the goat curry, coconut chicken curry, lamb curry, and tikka masala. All were amazing. We also got the butter naan and garlic naan which were perfectly crispy and soft. Not a single bad flavor on the table. And the waiter was super polite and friendly and was always very quick to refill our glasses of water without anyone even having to ask. The mango Lassi is fantastic as well, a must have drink with anything you order here. Everything was also very clean and well kept, the music was not too loud, and it was very reasonably priced. We paid around $115 for all of us. The only downside I can think of is that there isn't that much free parking on the street, so you may have to park at the nearby paid parking lot about a 4 minute walk away. Overall a 5/5, and a highly recommend if you like Indian cuisine .

  If you’ve never tried Persian cuisine, this spot is definitely worth a visit. The decor and atmosphere make you feel like you’ve been transported straight to Tehran. The food was excellent—we tried several of their signature dishes, including the lamb and beef kebabs, and the yogurt.

  We had a wonderful experience at Akbar Joojeh tonight. The food was amazing — the jeweled rice with lamb neck was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Our server, Hasti, was very professional and kind, and Kiarash’s respectful attitude and positive energy made the evening even more enjoyable. The whole team made us feel truly welcomed.   Had a great experience at Donair Dude on 17th Street in Lonsdale! The food was delicious, fresh, and generously portioned, and the service was excellent. A special shoutout to Parham, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. He really made the experience even better. You can tell that the management, especially Amir, cares about both the quality of the food and the customer experience. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a great donair and friendly service. I’ll definitely be coming back!
