Funny, irreverent, clever
Sedaris has an extraordinarily clever sense of humor. He's a very, very funny guy, and a brilliant writer. It's so nice to be able to simply sit back and hear someone tell stories... like they used to do in the "old days." No gratuitous violence, no manipulative soundtrack, no technological bells and whistles. It proves the rule, that at the end of the day, we're made up of stories, and we most want to tell ours and hear each others'. He was, at times, a bit too crass for my tastes, but even then I found myself laughing out loud.
Overall a very well spent evening. And the Pasadena Civic is a great venue.
