We stopped by The Keg on Granville Island for lunch and had a blast. I love the layout here. They have a really nice, dim upscale section on one side and a lively bar on the other. Canada was playing in the World Cup while we were there, which made the energy in the place even better. The staff was super friendly and the food was great. I tried to be adventurous and got the steak sandwich. It was a really good size and loaded with tons of meat, but it was just a bit too much for me. My husband loved it, though! The real star was the truffle fries. I’m honestly not a big fry eater, but these were seasoned perfectly and absolutely amazing.

I’ve always been a big supporter of The Keg and visit them frequently especially to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and family special occasions. It’s always been a favourite destination of mine for decades. I placed a door dash order on Friday September 25 asking for an unseasoned steak for my sweet dog’s meal as he was losing his battle with cancer. I also ordered two entrees for myself and my husband to enjoy with our dog. Not only did they make the whole order with care and love, but there was a nice handwritten card expressing how sorry they were and to enjoy the peaceful meal with our pup, along with a billy miner pie and a slice of cheesecake. The steak was cooked perfectly for my little guy. That gesture really made one of the worst nights of my life feel a bit more bearable. I’ve always been a supporter of the keg prior to this and this just solidifies my appreciation and love for the restaurant even more. Thank you so much.

We had dinner at The Keg Steakhouse + Bar on Granville Island and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. To start, we ordered the calamari and the garlic cheese bread. Both appetizers were delicious and surprisingly light—not overly greasy or heavy, which made them a great way to begin the evening. For our mains, we chose the Mushroom Risotto, the Truffle Chicken & Mushrooms, and the evenings special Chilean Sea Bass. Every dish was flavorful and expertly prepared. We especially loved the rich, smoky truffle notes in the chicken dish, which added wonderful depth and character. The standout, however, was the Chilean Sea Bass. It was cooked perfectly—moist, tender, and flaky, with large delicate pieces that practically melted apart with each bite. A wonderful dining experience from start to finish. Perfecto!

It's a very cozy Sea food restaurant beside the harbor. I smelled grilled fish 50m away before reaching to the place! We ordered Grilled Salmon which was sooooo delicious, balanced seasoning, very fresh Salmon. Also we got Cod Fish & Chips, which I like the presentation and portion, I would prefer it with more salt and seasoning, however it was super fresh! We like all staff hospitality, very friendly and feels like to be in a local restaurant. Wonderful Experience, recommend it for tasting fresh sea food, with nice view of harbor, at good price.

Listen, I've had a few of the tourist-stop fish and chips as an out-of-towner. This place if the best! Best cod, fries, and salmon I've ever had! Tartar sauce is perfect! This little spot by the water with the killer view is a winner. Hands down.

I arrived right when they opened on a weekday; it took them about 15 minutes to serve me after their posted opening time. The food is tasty, and I liked that the fish was locally caught. I practically filled up on french fries, but that’s appreciated when you’re a tourist walking all day and need plenty of energy. I liked that it included unlimited Valentina hot sauce and a glass of plain water. Although the place isn't very comfortable for dining in when it's raining, I loved the view while I ate.

This place was great! Service was very good, our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and was very attentive. The seafood itself was tasty and fresh! The space is beautifully designed, they put a good amount of effort into the interior design. Views of the harbor were also very nice. We visited here on a Saturday just before noon and the place was starting to get busy; when we left at roughly one, there was a bit of a queue to get in, so try to get here early! Overall if you’re in the area, definitely stop by!

We chose Afghan Horsemen Restaurant for our first Nowruz (Persian New Year 2585) dinner and visited with a group of friends, which made the evening even more special. The atmosphere was warm, lively, and beautifully designed, creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment. The staff were professional, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. We ordered the Kebab Platter Delight, a generous and beautifully presented selection of different kebabs and meats. It was served with incredibly delicious appetizers and their fresh, traditional warm bread, which made the whole experience even more authentic. Every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. We truly enjoyed this memorable evening with great food and great company, and would definitely recommend this place for a special gathering🍾

Afghan Horsemen Restaurant: More Than a Meal, It's a Heritage Experience Afghan Horsemen isn't just a restaurant; it is a true cultural landmark. As the pioneer that introduced authentic Afghan cuisine to North America over 50 years ago, this establishment offers an experience steeped in history, flavor, and hospitality. To dine here is to participate in a rich tradition, lovingly preserved and shared across generations. The food is, quite simply, exceptional and served with a palpable commitment to authenticity. Traditional favorites shine, from the perfectly seasoned, fall-off-the-bone Qabuli Palau (rice mixed with caramelized carrots and raisins) to the tender, charcoal-grilled kebabs. Even seemingly simple dishes like the Ashak (leek dumplings) are executed with an exquisite balance of spices and textures, demonstrating a deep respect for the culinary art of Afghanistan. Every bite is a journey, confirming why this cuisine has earned such a devoted following. What elevates Afghan Horsemen beyond a great meal is the atmosphere of Afghan hospitality. The interior is adorned with beautiful traditional décor, creating a warm, inviting, and intimate ambiance that feels worlds away from the busy city streets. The staff, known for their graciousness and attentiveness, embody the cultural spirit of welcoming guests. Farhad, who hosted me, takes pride not only in serving the food but in sharing the culture, making every visitor feel like an honored guest in an Afghan home. For those seeking an authentic cultural experience coupled with spectacular, time-honored dishes, Afghan Horsemen is an absolute must-visit. It remains a crucial piece of North America's culinary mosaic and a testament to the enduring power of food as a vehicle for tradition and connection.

We came for lunch on a Saturday and it was really busy. There seemed to be only only 1 waitress working so service was quite slow but she some how managed. The food was so good that we came back for dinner and had a much better experience. The Shish Kebab is of great value as it comes with many sides. The Kabuli Palaw is delicious, definitely get the lamb shank over the lamb shoulder, the meat just falls off the bone. Much more affordable than the other Afghan restaurant in Vancouver.

We had a wonderful dinner at Ancora in Yaletown, sitting out on the patio with our little Maltese, Lexi. Ancora has always been known for its seafood, but they introduced a new menu about four weeks ago that, for us, is a bit of a game changer. I enjoy seafood, but there are only so many times a week I want to eat it, and the new menu offers a much broader selection. We started with a couple of amazing sushi rolls, followed by the zucchini pasta, which was absolutely spectacular. We’re really looking forward to coming back and trying some of the other additions, including simple favourites like a burger and spaghetti bolognese, alongside the seafood dishes Ancora is known for. What really made the evening, though, was the staff. From the hostess who welcomed us, to our waitress Diana, to the gentleman keeping the water glasses filled and bussing the tables, everyone was warm, engaging and genuinely fun. It made the whole evening feel relaxed and welcoming. Great food, a beautiful Yaletown patio, dog-friendly, and terrific people looking after us. Definitely recommended, and we’ll be back.

Ancora has been one of my favorite neighborhood spots, especially since I live very close by. Every visit has been consistently excellent, starting with how clean the restaurant is—it immediately gives you confidence in the care and attention they put into every detail. The service truly stands out. The waitress was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service overall was attentive, smooth, and professional without ever feeling intrusive. You feel genuinely taken care of from start to finish. The wine menu is excellent, with a thoughtful selection that pairs beautifully with the food. Speaking of the food, it was exceptionally fresh and outstanding—beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Ancora is a fantastic combination of great service, immaculate space, impressive wines, and top-tier food. Having a place like this so close to home feels like a real luxury, and it’s one I’ll happily return to again and again.

The DockSide Restaurant is definitely the place to be if you're looking for fresh seafood and a nice clean dining experience. I dined in during the fall so the patio was not open, but even the dining room has quite a great view of the marina and all the boats, I can only imagine how nice it is during the summer on the patio. The open kitchen is really cool to see all the chefs in action, and the serving window is literally on-top of an aquarium, how cool! The glazed cauliflower has such perfect texture, lightly battered and fried and nice and soft on the inside. The Pan seared Cod was also delicious, I had never had mussels before and was leary at first, but the freshness and cook technique has them coming out perfectly!

I recently had dinner at Dockside Restaurant, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The beautiful waterfront atmosphere made the evening feel relaxing and special, and the elegant dining room created the perfect setting for a nice meal. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The appetizers were fresh and delicious, the main courses were cooked perfectly with rich, well-balanced flavors, and the desserts were the perfect way to end the meal. Everything looked as good as it tasted. The cocktails were also excellent—refreshing, well-crafted, and beautifully served. They paired perfectly with the food and added even more enjoyment to our dinner. What impressed me just as much as the food was the service. The staff were warm, professional, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the evening. They checked on us regularly without ever being intrusive, making the entire dining experience comfortable and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a restaurant with outstanding food, delicious drinks, excellent service, and a beautiful waterfront atmosphere, I highly recommend Dockside Restaurant. I had a fantastic dining experience and will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended!

My friend been wanting to visit this place for long time and today we finally made it happen… cheesecake day!!!! We tried three different cheesecakes Red Velvet, Tiramisu and special of the Day which was Nutella. All three were amazing! Since I’m a big fan of coffee flavors, Tiramisu was my personal favorite but choosing between Tiramisu and Red Velvet was so difficult. I like texture of these two better than Nutella but overall loved everything about them… The atmosphere was another highlight. It has such a beautiful, antique, cozy feel that makes the whole experience even more special… A special shoutout to Shaun who took our order. He was incredibly patient, explained everything calmly and professionally and his kindness and hospitality made our experience at least 10 times BETTER. It’s always nice when great food comes with great service! We absolutely loved our experience and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this place if you’re a cheesecake lover!

Cheesecake Etc. is such a unique spot. I couldn’t believe that on a weekday at midnight, more than half the tables were still occupied. We ordered the blackberry cheesecake and the strawberry cheesecake, both with Earl Grey tea. They were light, refreshing, and not overly sweet. The only thing I’d do differently next time is ask for no whipped cream on top so I can enjoy the pure cheesecake flavor even more. Definitely a place worth visiting.

Come for the breakfast. Come back for Randy! Paul’s Omelettery, just before the Granville Bridge in Vancouver, is everything a classic breakfast joint should be—and then some! You come for a good, authentic breakfast, but what you get is so much more than omelets. You get personality, hospitality, laughter, and that wonderful old-school charm that makes you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. And then there’s Randy! The epitome of genuine hospitality. Warm, witty, jovial, attentive, and effortlessly personable. He even handed me a newspaper to enjoy with my breakfast! Such a simple, thoughtful gesture, but one that speaks volumes about the kind of welcome you receive here. It’s that wonderful feeling of sitting at a neighbourhood breakfast spot, where conversation comes easily, the atmosphere is unpretentious, and good old-fashioned service is still alive and well. Paul’s Omelettery serves up more than a great breakfast. It serves up a little slice of Vancouver character, warmth, and community. You’ll come for the breakfast, but trust me, you’ll come back for Randy! What a gem of a place!

The hot chocolates and coffees were delectable as well. Very cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be back if we're in town again.

I came across this place as I was in Vancouver looking for a breakfast place that opened early and they opened at 7am on a weekday. I was the first person in, and was warmly greeted. Started with a cup of coffee and the refills just kept coming. There was great hospitality and friendly conversations as I waited for my food. Being an "omelettery", I had to get an omelette and went with the chorizo which was on special. The eggs were thinly cooked like a crepe and wrapped beautifully around the filling. Pay street parking is available around the restaurant, but it is free before 9am. This place was a great find and I plan on visiting again next time Im in the neighborhood.
