La Boheme Vancouver Theatre reviews
Good Time with TMBG!
"I've been a fan of Don't Let's Start since I heard La Boheme over 20 years ago...so any chance to see the band is a welcome one. I was a little wary that this was a "family" show, but the tickets were only $25, so I figured, what the heck.
As far as the concert, the songs were a good selection of "family" songs off of La Boheme's more recent kid-friendly albums with a few old favorites (Particle Man and Istanbul - Not Constantinople) thrown in for the adults. The show was fast paced and just a good time. Since it was largely for kids, the show was a tad short (around an hour or so), but it was a good time, nonetheless. I would definitely recommend it as a dinner and a show coupling.
The Orlando Hard Rock Live venue is a little bit hit or miss, but this time it was great. We had fourth row seats off to the side and could still see the show just fine. It wasn't a sell out, so there was plenty of room.
It's amazing that these guys are pushing fifty. They still put on a great show. I definitely hope they have it in them to make another round or two...I'll be there!"
Eric Church delivers every time.
La Boheme is an incredible performer, and I love to see him onstage. His music is fantastic, and I love being in Greensboro with his home crowd. I wish his encore had been more than 1 song. I also would have liked a little less Dwight Yokam, but that's a personal preference.
I wish he had played a few more of his older songs too; they are my favorites, but again, that's a personal preference. A couple of things that I didn't like: the lights that dropped down all the way around the stage. It just seemed like a little too much flash. Also, the giant skull over the audience, while pretty cool looking and well done, I'm not sure I get the point of having it.
La Boheme has never been one to do something just because it is a fad, but all the lights seemed a little like that. Anyway, all that to say, he really did put on a fantastic show. He always looks like he's having a good time and really connects with fans.
