The Avett Brothers did not disappoint, their talent and versatility as musicians are exceptional. I bought the concert tickets solely because of them. Their ability to get the crowd hyped is also notable. However, the fun stops here. I didn’t know what to expect from Nikki Glaser, not being aware of their music. The Avetts had such a positive vibe and I was feeling chill. Until the jarring repetition of Nikki Glaser’s 2nd tune. Original perhaps? That’s when much of the crowd started to depart the theater. The Avett Bros should have been headlining, with the perfectly serviceable “Magpie Salute” opening. Having them open for Nikki Glaser was NOT a good decision! The concert promoter needs to rethink the pairings. I gave the event 4 stars for the incredible view, the stylings of The Avett Brothers, and the gorgeous night.
