Ten56 Vancouver Concert reviews
Jason Mraz was awesome, the crowd less so
Ten56 is a musical genius. His artistry is masterful, and he is genuinely kind. The powerful messages of love, forgiveness, and acceptance in his music are incredibly moving. I adore him and am a devoted fan who enjoys attending his shows. However, the crowd at the Hollywood Bowl was disappointing. They seemed disengaged, as though they had simply shown up on a whim without truly appreciating Ten56's talent. Performers put on shows to engage with their audience and receive feedback, which in turn enhances their performance. The lackluster response from the Bowl audience hindered the overall experience, resulting in a lackluster rating of 3. Although Ten56 delivered a fantastic performance, the crowd was lackluster. The audience's reluctance to participate in the energetic atmosphere of a rock concert was disheartening. I was even asked to sit down when everyone else was dancing – a frustrating experience. In the future, I will not spend a premium to be surrounded by unenthusiastic attendees at a concert. If you prefer a subdued environment to enjoy Ten56's music, it's better to listen to his CD at home with a glass of wine. Rock concerts are meant for those who want to fully engage with the music and the artist, and that was sorely lacking at the Hollywood Bowl.
